About

I grew up around computers during the 386 era, when DOS and the command line were the primary interface. There were no polished GUIs to hide complexity—if you wanted something to work, you learned how the system actually functioned. That environment shaped how I approach technology today: I still feel most comfortable in a terminal, where tools are composable and systems reveal their inner workings.

Professionally, I’ve spent many years working as a software engineer building backend systems and infrastructure-heavy applications. I enjoy the intersection of software and systems engineering—designing services, automating workflows, and making complex systems reliable.

I’ve always been drawn to understanding entire stacks rather than isolated pieces of technology. Whether it’s operating systems, networking, containers, or distributed services, I enjoy seeing how the pieces fit together and where the abstractions leak.

My homelab is where most of my experimentation happens. It’s a constantly evolving environment where I test new tools, break things, rebuild them, and learn how modern infrastructure actually behaves outside of documentation and tutorials.

Recently I’ve been spending time exploring tools like Proxmox VE for virtualization and Rancher for container orchestration. I’ve also been experimenting with newer development tools such as the Zed Editor and increasingly incorporating AI-assisted coding into my workflow.

My hobbies include motorcycle riding, running, skiing, cooking, and going to the gym. I was once an avid runner until a right knee injury forced me to slow down a bit. I am planning to return to running again soon.
